Brioche Intensive
With Kate Atherley
Elevate your knitting skills this summer and join renowned designer and tutor Kate Atherley in her Summer School - Brioche Intensive.This class is a deep dive into brioche knitting. Suitable for knitters with little to no brioche experience, or those who want to expand their skills and understand, we'll start right at the beginning, explaining both single colour and two-colour brioche patterns.
Small classes with plenty of attention from your tutor will ensure that you make lots of progress each week. Classes are recorded so you can catch up on anything you missed and rewatch sections as many times as you like.
As well as weekly classes, your tutor will host weekly Q&A sessions to give you the opportunity to check in.
A small amount of essential homework will be given each week - and of course, you can practice your newfound skills in between classes as much as you like.

Week 1
Single-colour brioche.
Two-colour brioche.
An introduction to reading instructions.
Week 2
Increases and decreases and pattern stitches.
Variations, including Fisherman’s rib.
Options for side edges and how to keep them tidy.
Working from brioche charts.
Week 3
Fixing (and preventing) mistakes.
More complex pattern stitches, and non-standard increases and decreases.
Week 4
Variations: Tuck stitches.
Casting on and off for tidy starts and finishes.
Blocking and weaving in ends.
