Cable Crochet Intensive

Join ROWAN CONNECT Tutor, Samira Hill for a comprehensive 4-week exploration of crochet cables. Through expert guidance and hands-on demonstrations, you will learn to crochet beautiful cable patterns, whilst making a striking Aran blanket. Crochet cables not only look great, they are much easier to work than they appear!
The Aran Crochet Blanket has been specifically designed as a teaching tool to cover all aspects of crochet cables, allowing for a smooth progression in building skills over the nine different patterns that make up the blanket. With the exception of the centre square, all motifs are repeated 2-4 times to consolidate each new set of skills, before progressing to the next square.
Small classes with plenty of attention from your tutor will ensure that you make lots of progress each week. Classes are recorded so you can catch up on anything you missed and rewatch sections as many times as you like.
As well as weekly classes, your tutor will host weekly Q&A sessions to give you the opportunity to check in.
A small amount of essential homework will be given each week - and of course, you can practice your newfound skills in between classes as much as you like.

Week 1
We begin by learning about the principles of crochet cables, perfect placement, and setup techniques. Then we dive into creating front crossing cables, exploring both continuous and off-set designs.
Week 2
Next, we look at how to craft front crossing cables that intertwine with other cables and create cables that elegantly cross to the back, adding depth and dimension to your work.
Week 3
This week we explore the art of working cables that cross in multiple directions and experiment with cable sequences to create visually interesting patterns.
Week 4
Finally, we uncover the secrets of integrating decreases into your crochet cables and enhance your creations with textured stitches, adding a tactile richness to your cable projects.
