Join sock knitting expert Kate Atherley this summer. In four weeks, she’ll teach you everything you need to know to be a great sock knitter.

We’ll tackle toe-up and top-down sock knitting methods and discuss different types of heels and toes. We’ll dive deep into sock structure and sizing, so that you can choose and knit the right size and make any tweaks to perfect the fit for comfort and style. We’ll talk about sock yarns, and strategies for making sure your socks last as long as possible. Along the way we’ll review different needle options for sock knitting: double-pointed needles, magic loop, 2 circulars and others. She’ll teach you a little bit about knitting history and a lot about how to make sure your feet are warm and comfortable always, no matter how cold or wet your weather.

This class is suitable for those with a little sock knitting experience who want to build their skills and expand their knowledge, or for those who have never made a sock at all. You must have experience working in the round, and with at least one method for small circumferences in the round – double-pointed needles, magic loop or two circulars.

You’ll leave with four key patterns and the skills to make any sock pattern, in the way you want.
