Join this five-session online Spring Term Course to create your very own sweater—a timeless pullover (Haymarket) or cardigan (Abbey), designed by Martin Storey—using Rowan’s beloved Felted Tweed yarn.

Both patterns will be provided to you before we begin. We’ll start from the basics, including how to choose the right size and select the perfect needles for your project. You’ll learn how to read and follow a knitting pattern with confidence, including tips for keeping track of instructions and tackling common challenges like “decrease at both ends.” Along the way, we’ll share essential finishing techniques and all the insider knowledge you need to bring your sweater to life.

Whether this is your first sweater or you’re ready to build your skills with garments worked in pieces, this knit-along is designed to guide and inspire you. The course spans eight weeks, giving you plenty of time between sessions to work at your own pace. Plus, you’ll have access to a dedicated online chat group for questions and support as you knit.

This class is perfect for knitters who are comfortable with basic techniques like knitting, purling, casting on and off, and working increases and decreases. No advanced skills or prior experience with sweater-making are needed—just bring your enthusiasm and yarn!

Small classes with plenty of attention from your tutor will ensure that you make lots of progress each week. Classes are recorded so you can catch up on anything you missed and rewatch sections as many times as you like.

Please purchase yarn for either HAYMARKET or ABBEY prior to the start of the course.  Note: in the first class, we will be discussing how to choose the right size, and so if you prefer, buy only one ball of yarn so you can check your tension and then buy the rest once you’ve chosen your size.

See links below for quantities. Please do not buy the pattern as this is included in the course materials.
